Police Administration of MUP KS: There was no attempted alleged kidnapping of a boy in Vogošća

(Patria) - The Police Administration of MUP KS issued a statement today regarding the alleged attempted kidnapping of a boy in an elementary school in Vogošća.

"Given that in the past period, the public has been informed through various media and social networks about the alleged attempted kidnapping of a boy in an elementary school in the municipality of Vogošća, we wish to inform the public on this occasion that, upon receiving such a report, police officers of the Police Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, under the supervision of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton, immediately took a series of measures and actions to shed light on and document all circumstances related to this event, and that through checks and interviews with multiple witnesses, it was determined that the report is unfounded.

In order to protect the child's interests, we are unable to provide further details, except to emphasize that the claims and media reports that an attempted kidnapping occurred are not true.

We particularly emphasize that the police did not announce the license plates of the vehicle that was the subject of interest to the public, and it is evident that some media outlets still have data, even photos of the vehicle, which checks have determined are not related to the event of the reported incident," stated the Police Administration of MUP KS.

The Sarajevo police ask the media to adjust their publications in such and similar cases only to official statements and announcements from competent authorities and their authorized representatives, in order to prevent the spread of inaccurate information and public unrest.
