Kremlin Warning: Our Response to the Use of Western Long-Range Missiles Will Be Adequate and Tangible

(Patria) - Moscow's response to attacks with Western long-range missiles deep into Russian territory will be adequate and tangible, warned the spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, today.

Zakharova emphasized that this would mean direct participation of the United States and "its satellites" in the conflict against Russia.

"If Kyiv uses long-range missiles to attack our territory, it will mean direct participation of the US and its satellites in combat operations against Russia, as well as a radical change in the essence and nature of the conflict. In that case, Russia's response will be adequate and tangible," Zakharova stated.

In a statement published on the website of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, she added that it is not yet clear whether the information that the US administration has allowed Ukraine to use Western long-range missiles is "based on official sources".

"It is only clear that against the backdrop of the defeat of the Kyiv regime, its Western patrons are betting on the maximum escalation of the hybrid war launched against Russia in an attempt to achieve the illusory goal of inflicting a strategic defeat on Moscow," Zakharova said, TASS reported.

She added that, however, no "wonder weapon" is capable of influencing the course of the war in Ukraine.

Global media, including Reuters and The New York Times, reported yesterday that the administration of outgoing US President Joseph Biden has allowed Ukraine to use ATACMS long-range cruise missiles for strikes deep into Russian territory.
