UPFBiH: FBiH Government Introduced 28 Measures That Further Burdened the Economy

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Reacting to yesterday's statement by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Minister of Finance of FBiH, Jelka Milićević, in which she emphasized that the number of employed people is the highest since the FBiH exists, the Association of Employers of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina thanks Minister Milićević for recognizing the fact that the increase in the number of employed people in FBiH is solely due to the merits of employers from the real sector.

"If the authorities stop bothering us, and especially if they help us, the private sector in the Federation of BiH is ready to solve the problem of unemployment within the next three years while simultaneously increasing average wages by 50 percent," say the Association of Employers of FBiH.

The UPFBiH reminds that the authorities adopted 28 measures in the past mandate period, which introduced additional burdens for the economy. They recall measures such as the taxation of meal allowances, transportation, and holiday bonuses, the abolition of incentive measures for exporters and the taxation of reinvested profits according to the new Law on Profit Tax of FBiH, the introduction of new and increase of existing fees for the economy, etc. On the other hand, the authorities have done very little in the past period to truly relieve the economy and improve the business environment.

The first measure by which they can show concrete action in relieving the economy and improving the business environment, which Minister Milićević publicly boasts about, is to submit the proposed amendments to the Law on Profit Tax of FBiH, proposed by employers, to the House of Peoples of FBiH next week, instead of the proposal submitted by the Federal Government.

Therefore, the UPFBiH asks the authorities to stop bothering employers in the future, which will be the best way to enable the unhindered development of the economy, a significant increase in the number of employees and wages in FBiH.
