(Patria) - UNICEF spokesperson James Elder says Rafah, a city in southern Gaza, is home to some of the last remaining hospitals, shelters, markets, and water systems in the enclave.
"Rafah is the last hope for the Gaza Strip," Elder wrote in a post on platform X.
Elder's comments come as Israel prepares for a ground offensive on Rafah.
Meanwhile, over a million displaced Palestinians are housed in overcrowded camps in Rafah.
