UN: War in Gaza reaches point of no return

(Patria) - The war reaches a point of no return when all rules are not respected, said the head of the UN aid agency.

There were direct hits on 17 facilities of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency since October 7, where thousands of displaced Palestinians had taken shelter, said Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini, without specifying who carried out the attacks.

Among them are two schools hit on Friday and Saturday, al Falah/Zeitoun and al Fakhoura, which had sheltered up to 11,000 people, he said.

- This is further proof that no one and nowhere is safe in Gaza. Once again, shelters that were meant to provide safety and protection to civilians were hit, with many people killed, including children.

These acts are not only in clear violation of the rules of war, they also show a complete disregard for humanity.

UNRWA regularly shares the coordinates of these buildings with the parties to the conflict. This vicious war is reaching a point of no return when all rules are not respected, with open disregard for civilian lives - Lazzarini added.
