UN: Since October 7, an average of one child killed every ten minutes in the Gaza Strip

(Patria) - The United Nations (UN) announced that on average one child has been killed and two injured every ten minutes in the brutal Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip that have been ongoing since October 7.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) issued a statement on the number of children killed in Gaza.

"During the war, an average of one child was killed and two were injured every ten minutes. The protection of civilians during conflict is not just a wish or an ideal, but a responsibility and a commitment of our common humanity. Civilians must be protected wherever they are," stated UNRWA.

The Israeli army launched air and ground attacks on the Gaza Strip following the cross-border attack by Hamas on October 7.

At least 10,022 Palestinians, including 4,104 children and 2,641 women, have been killed in Israeli bombing of the Gaza Strip. According to official data, the number of fatalities in Israel is around 1,600.

In addition to the large number of casualties and mass displacement, basic supplies are running out for the 2.3 million inhabitants of the Gaza Strip due to the Israeli siege.
