(Patria) - The United Nations (UN) announced that Israeli authorities approved only one third of the 129 humanitarian aid operations planned for Gaza last week.
UN spokesperson Stefan Dujarric also said that the Palestinian population in Gaza needs adequate conditions to protect themselves from rain and cold as winter approaches.
He added that the UN and its partners are trying to quickly deliver tents to the area.
Reminding that hundreds of thousands of Palestinians have already been displaced, Dujarric emphasized that their needs are rapidly increasing and cannot be easily met, especially due to the Israeli siege in northern Gaza.
"Israeli authorities approved only a third of the 129 humanitarian operations planned for Gaza last week," Dujarric said, noting that other operations were prevented for "security and logistical" reasons.
