UN: Israel committed genocide against Palestinians in Gaza!

(Patria) - The United Nations Commission of Inquiry has announced that Israel committed genocide against Palestinians in Gaza.

The new report states that there are reasonable grounds to conclude that four of the five genocidal acts defined by international law have been committed since the start of the war with Hamas in 2023: killing members of a group, causing serious bodily and mental harm, deliberately creating conditions leading to the destruction of the group, and preventing births.

As evidence of genocidal intent, the report cites statements by Israeli leaders and patterns of behavior by Israeli forces.

Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that it categorically rejects the report, calling it "distorted and false."

A spokesperson accused the three experts on the commission of serving as "Hamas intermediaries" and of "relying entirely on Hamas's lies, which were transmitted and repeated by others, and which have already been thoroughly debunked."

"In stark contrast to the lies in the report, it is Hamas that attempted to commit genocide in Israel – by killing 1,200 people, raping women, burning families alive, and openly declaring the goal of killing every Jew," they added.

The Israeli military launched attacks in Gaza in response to the Hamas-led attack on southern Israel on October 7, 2023, in which about 1,200 people were killed and 251 people were taken hostage.

According to data from the Hamas-run health ministry in the territory, at least 64,905 people have been killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza since then.

Most of the population has also been repeatedly displaced; an estimated more than 90% of homes have been damaged or destroyed; the health, water, sanitation, and hygiene systems have collapsed; and UN-backed food security experts have declared famine in Gaza City.
