Entry into NATO would make BiH a safer and better country

BiH Minister of Defence Zekerijah Osmić stated that he is very disappointed with the current discussion on the Bill on Military Property and that it is already evident that the MPs will not adopt this law.

- It is very important that BiH finally registers 63 facilities, and I must note that positions have already been agreed for 32 facilities. What worries me is the reluctance of some, especially from RS, who do not understand the importance of BiH moving closer to NATO - Osmić said.

He further noted that BiH would be a safer and better country by doing so, and that in May, when NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen visits BiH, we will know NATO's stance towards BiH.

- Ultimately, for the summit in September, we will definitely know how NATO member states will treat BiH. There have been proposals for the Council of Ministers to agree on the Law on State Property, and that is not disputed at all. But I must note that if these laws are not voted on and agreed upon, I will hand over the 32 facilities I mentioned to the BiH Prosecutor's Office - Osmić added.
