The total debt for taxes, contributions, fees, and other charges in the Federation has reached 2.27 billion KM, according to the latest data from the FBiH Tax Administration, reports the Patria News Agency.

The list of debtors of the Tax Administration includes as many as 2,647 entities owing more than 50,000 KM in tax obligations.

Of the total debt amount, 1.78 billion KM refers to the principal, and 472.8 million KM to interest. The four largest debtors, with debts exceeding 100 million KM, collectively owe the state around 570 million KM.

The largest debtor in the Federation of BiH is still JP Željeznice FBiH (FBiH Railways Public Company), with a debt of 205.1 million KM. Five years ago, when the first list of debtors was published, this company owed 142.5 million KM, meaning the debt has increased by about 63 million KM in the meantime.

In second place on the list is KJKP GRAS with a debt of 129 million KM. Its debt has rapidly increased over five years, considering that in 2012 it amounted to "only" 12.4 million KM.

The next three places on the list of largest debtors are occupied by three mines, with "Kreka" owing the most at 124.0 million KM. RMU Zenica is fourth on the list with a debt of 111.2 million KM, while RMU Kakanj is in fifth place with 77.8 million KM.

Following them are, in sixth place, Hidrogradnja d.d. in bankruptcy with a debt of 67.6 million KM, then Breza Mine with 64.1 million KM, and the University Clinical Hospital Mostar with a debt of 58.9 million KM. The top 10 largest debtors are rounded out by Željezara Zenica with a debt of 49.6 million KM and Agrokomerc d.d. from Cazin with 29.1 million KM.

Interestingly, the Employment Service of Una-Sana Canton (USK) is in a high 11th place, with a tax debt of 29.1 million KM.

The first private company on this list, which is dominated by public companies and institutions at the top, is Fortuna from Gračanica with a tax debt of 27.2 million KM.

Also high on the list are two betting shops, Derby Bet Shop (which went bankrupt) in 15th place with a debt of 21.9 million KM, and Intersport Kladionica in 17th place with 18.8 million KM.

A large number of hospitals, as well as public institutions such as faculties, student centers, and even public television broadcasters, are high on this list.

Among others, General Hospital Konjic has high debts of 13.5 million KM, Cantonal Hospital Dr. Fra Mihovil Sučić Livno 6.8 million KM, and Cantonal Hospital Dr. Safet Mujić Mostar 6.0 million KM.

The Faculty of Pharmacy Sarajevo has a total debt of 7.5 million KM, Student Center Sarajevo 6.3 million KM, etc.

Among public television broadcasters, RTV FBiH owes the most, ranking 29th on the list with a tax debt of 9.3 million KM.

Among other entities, even ministries do not pay taxes and other obligations, so the Ministry of Internal Affairs of West Herzegovina Canton (ŽZH) Ljubuški is in 35th place on the list with a debt of 7.6 million KM.

The list is mainly dominated by loss-making public companies and institutions, as well as companies that have been in bankruptcy for years, but there are also many private companies. Among them are some active ones, such as, for example, Beko Precize from Goražde, whose debt amounts to 6.8 million KM.

Football club Čelik from Zenica, whose survival has been much discussed recently, owes the state 5.2 million KM.
