Firefighters have largely contained the southern California fire, allowing thousands of evacuated residents to return to their homes, reports the Patria News Agency.
The Blue Cut fire, named after the strait where it broke out on Tuesday about 120 kilometers northeast of Los Angeles, has destroyed more than 15,000 hectares of vegetation, 105 houses, and 213 other structures, said fire department spokesman Mike Lopez. A total of more than 80,000 people were evacuated due to the fire.
About 73 percent of the fire scene is under control.
