Ukrainian attack near oil depot in occupied Luhansk region causes fire

(Patria) - Three people were killed, seven wounded and a large fire was caused at an oil depot in Ukraine's occupied Luhansk region in a Ukrainian attack late on Friday, Reuters reported.

Officials, citing the local health ministry, said four of the wounded were in serious condition.

"The enemy opened fire on the peaceful city of Rovenki," wrote regional Russian governor Leonid Pasechnik on Telegram.

"Due to the shelling, the oil depot was engulfed in flames, and nearby houses were damaged."

It was the second such attack in three days. On Wednesday, an attack on an oil depot in the regional center of Luhansk wounded five people.

Pasechnik reported that at least one of the dead was an employee at the depot in Rovenki, about 60 km south of the city of Luhansk. Emergency services were trying to keep the fire away from neighboring houses in the city.

There was no comment from Ukrainian officials.

Ukrainian bloggers and Telegram channels reported on the attack and published photos of the large fire.
