Ukrainians Warn Russians After Karadžić Verdict

The sentence for Radovan Karadžić did not stir up spirits only in the Balkans. Two foreign ministries of distant countries engaged in a real small conflict in their statements. This concerns the Russian and Ukrainian ministries of foreign affairs. The Russians were the first to write an extensive commentary in which they traditionally defend the Serbian side, writes Patria.    

- We can already note that this is one of a series of very harsh sentences by the Hague Tribunal against Serbs, considering that acquittals were issued to other participants in the civil war in former Yugoslavia - Croatian General Ante Gotovina, Kosovo Albanian Ramush Haradinaj, as well as Bosniak commander Naser Orić - stated the Russian MFA. 

An answer arrived from Ukraine. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine emphasized that the Hague Tribunal's decision is proof that everyone who committed crimes against humanity, ignoring the principles of international humanitarian law, will sooner or later be punished. 

In this regard, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine recalled, as they state, the Russian aggression against Ukraine and the illegal occupation of Crimea and Sevastopol, emphasizing the inevitability of punishment for such misdeeds.
