Ukrainians released footage: What the fight against Russians on the front line looks like

(Patria) - The Third Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced that its forces liberated the village of Nadiya in the Luhansk region, a region of Ukraine that is almost entirely under Russian control.

According to the commander of the 1st Assault Battalion, Volodymyr Foka Fokin, who spoke to Ukrainska Pravda, the operation lasted 30 hours, and his battalion played a key role in it. The Ukrainians also released the first footage of the action.

They claim to have liberated a total of three square kilometers of territory. The brigade states that Russian forces made two months of efforts to capture the village and that as many as two mechanized regiments - the 752nd and 254th from the 20th Guards Combined Arms Army of Russia - were destroyed in the fighting.

Fokin explained that the liberation of the village of Nadiya enables effective fire control over the Chorniy Zherebets river and the settlements of Raihorodka and Dzerelne, which are still under Russian occupation.

- The liberation of Nadiya complicates a possible mechanized enemy attack towards the village of Kopanky and stops further advance towards Zelenyi Hay and Borova - said Fokin.

He also added that this offensive allows for maintaining fire control over the settlements of Pervotravneve (Stepi) and Vishneve.

- In general, we have strengthened our defense line and taken more favorable positions for further defense - stated Fokin.
