(Patria) - A second armed rebellion in Russia "is not far off," said Oleksiy Danilov, Secretary of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council, agencies reported.
"The current situation for the Kremlin is such that the unfulfilled desire for a second offensive on Kyiv will be overshadowed by the urgent need to prepare for a second march on Moscow," says Danilov.
"And this event is not far off. Toothpaste squeezed out of the tube, an increase in protests by dissatisfied people of various colors in Russia, cannot be put back in," he added.
Russia faced a short-lived rebellion when the head of Wagner group mercenaries, Yevgeny Prigozhin, launched an uprising last month and headed towards Moscow with his soldiers.
The rebellion ended with an agreement under which Prigozhin was exiled to Belarus without any legal proceedings against him in Russia.
After the short rebellion, the Russian leadership began to project an appearance of stability and control within the country and on the front in Ukraine.
