Ukraine attacked deep into Russian territory, Trump approved such moves

(Patria) - Washington approves specific cases in which Ukraine can carry out long-range strikes inside Russia, said US Special Envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg in an interview with Fox News.

"The answer is yes, you use the capability to strike deep, there are no sanctuaries," Kellogg responded when asked if US President Donald Trump's stance was that Ukraine could carry out long-range strikes.

President Volodymyr Zelensky reportedly asked Trump to supply Kyiv with Tomahawk long-range cruise missiles during a meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly last week.

The US is "considering" supplying Kyiv with Tomahawk missiles as Moscow continues to refuse bilateral and trilateral peace talks mediated by Trump, confirmed US Vice President JD Vance on September 28.

Kellogg noted that the final decision on whether Ukraine can carry out long-range strikes inside Russia falls to Trump, on a case-by-case basis.

While Ukraine is developing its own long-range missiles and drones, Kyiv continues to rely on weapons provided by allies to carry out such attacks, which often require the approval of the country supplying the missiles.

Ukraine fiercely attacked the Russian city of Belgorod overnight, which is experiencing a major power outage, the first such since the beginning of the war, according to social media reports.

Thousands of homes were left without electricity in the evening, and eyewitnesses report people trapped in elevators and apartments in the dark. It is claimed that a missile hit a heating plant. Video posted on social media shows strong explosions and a cloud of smoke rising from the scene, writes the Dpa agency.

Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said in a video posted on Telegram that the city is facing "significant" power outages. Speaking in front of an illuminated building, he noted that the air raid alert was still in effect and urged residents to take shelter in basements.
