Conviction of Semir Rastoder overturned, no legal deadline for retrial

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - In mid-March, the Supreme Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina overturned the first-instance verdict by which Semir Rastoder was sentenced to five and a half years in prison for causing a traffic accident in April 2014, which resulted in the death of Hava Dovadžija, a mother of two.

The case has been returned to the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo, where the trial will be repeated. There is no legal deadline for this, as it is not a case involving pre-trial detention. Rastoder has not spent a single day in custody in the past five years.

We remind you that on April 1, 2014, Rastoder hit Hava Dovadžija with his car on the main road in Nedžarići. She was survived by her husband and two children.

Five years after losing his wife Hava in a traffic accident, Amar Dovadžija posted on Facebook today.
"Nothing new in OUR BEAUTIFUL HOMELAND!!!! Thank God we will go THERE where neither mother, nor father, nor brother, nor sister, nor connections, nor favors, nor wealth will help. WOE TO YOU WHEN THE JUDGMENT DAY COMES!!! MAY IT BE FORBIDDEN TO YOU!!! After five years of playing games, the procedure is being repeated!!!", wrote Amar Dovadžija, the husband of the deceased Hava Dovadžija.
