(Patria) - UN humanitarian aid operations in the Gaza Strip were suspended yesterday after Israel issued a new evacuation order for the city of Deir Al-Balah in the central part of the enclave.
A senior UN official said that yesterday they were unable to deliver aid, given the conditions they are in.
- We are not leaving (Gaza) because people there need us. We are trying to meet the needs of the population, but also the need for the safety of UN personnel - said the unnamed official.
The same source added that UN personnel on the ground have been ordered to try to find a way to continue working.
