UIO publishes list of ten companies with the largest VAT payments

Ten companies from Bosnia and Herzegovina paid a total of 388 million KM in value added tax in the first six months of 2017. These are also the companies that made the largest VAT payments in BiH in the first half of 2017.

In addition to the largest VAT payments, these are companies that have based their business on respecting the legal regulations in the field of indirect taxes for many years, which means they are completely compliant taxpayers.

The ten companies with the highest value added tax payments in the first half of 2017 are:

BH Telecom d.d. Sarajevo, JP Elektroprivreda BiH d.d. Sarajevo, Telekomunikacije Republike Srpske - Telekom Srpske and M:Tel, Fabrika Duhana Sarajevo d.d., Elektroprivreda Hrvatske zajednice Herceg-Bosne d.d., BINGO d.o.o. Tuzla, Javno poduzeće Hrvatske telekomunikacije d.d./PUBLIC ENTERPRISE CROATIAN TELECOM JSC, OPTIMA GRUPA d.о.о. Banja Luka, Mješoviti holding ERS-MP a.d. Trebinje-ZP RiTE Ugljevik and RMU BANOVIĆI d.d.

- For all such taxpayers in BiH, the Indirect Taxation Authority will introduce so-called 'Horizontal Monitoring' in the coming period, specifically a special type of control based on mutual trust and cooperation between the ITA and taxpayers. Horizontal monitoring has several advantages, and the main goal of this type of control is to assist and influence taxpayers in fulfilling their obligations.

Just as we publish the so-called 'Black List' every month on the ITA website, which includes all debtors for VAT, excise duties, customs, and tolls, the ITA will also form a so-called 'White List' in the coming period, for those taxpayers who have demonstrated to the greatest extent possible in the previous period that they have fulfilled all their obligations and respected all legal regulations in the field of indirect taxes.

This is the case in many modern tax administrations in EU member states, so the ITA will follow this example. Taxpayers published on the ITA's 'White List' will certainly have a significant advantage when concluding their future business transactions - it was announced from the ITA.

The tables in the images show a review of the top five taxpayers from each regional center of the ITA who made the largest value added tax payments in BiH in the first half of 2017 (they paid a total of 492 million KM).

In addition to all others, all the mentioned taxpayers have made a significant contribution to the collection of indirect tax revenues. Thus, in the first seven months of 2017, the Indirect Taxation Authority collected a record 3 billion and 909 million KM, which is 255 million KM or 6.99% more compared to the same period in 2016.
