Five arrested, drugs, weapons, and ammunition found

(Patria) - On the order of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of KS, members of the Federal Police Administration have begun the implementation of an operation codenamed "Duga 2" for the criminal offense of unauthorized production and trafficking of narcotic drugs.

So far, five people have been deprived of their liberty and searches are underway at several locations in the area of Sarajevo Canton, East Sarajevo, and Zenica-Doboj Canton. The operation is being carried out in cooperation with members of OSA and MUP RS, confirmed Azra Bavčić, spokesperson for the KS Prosecutor's Office. 

"A certain amount of drugs, weapons, and ammunition has been found so far," said Bavčić. 

As part of the mentioned operation, searches are being conducted at six locations in the areas of Sarajevo, Istočno Novo Sarajevo, Visoko, and Breza, and five individuals with initials A.M. (1988), A.V. (1985), B.K. (1998), and A.B. (1989) have been deprived of their liberty, as well as a citizen of R. Macedonia with initials K.V. (1983), who are suspected of trafficking the narcotic drugs "Amphetamine" and "Cannabis Sativa L" in the period from 13.12.2018 until today, in the areas of Sarajevo and Zenica-Doboj Cantons, with the aim of obtaining unlawful property benefits.

During the searches, a certain amount of unknown substance was found which, by its appearance, resembles the narcotic drugs "Amphetamine" and "Cannabis Sativa L", equipment and scales for precise weighing, automatic weapons, ammunition, telephones and SIM cards, as well as other items that originate from or are related to the aforementioned criminal offense.

The persons deprived of their liberty will be processed criminally in the official premises of the Federal Police Administration, and within the legal deadline, they will be handed over with a report on the committed criminal offense to the further jurisdiction of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton.
