Five minors arrested for car theft in Sarajevo and Živinice, vehicles returned to owners

On Thursday around 1:30 PM, the III Police Station was informed that two unknown individuals committed the criminal offense of aggravated theft of a passenger motor vehicle, a "VW Golf 3", owned by K.A. from Sarajevo, from Safeta Zajke street in the municipality of Novi Grad Sarajevo, writes the BH news agency Patria.

Police officers from the Traffic Unit stopped and inspected the mentioned passenger motor vehicle in the aforementioned street, driven by minor O.S., born in 1998, residing in Sarajevo, with minors R.M., born in 2000, residing in Sarajevo, and minor O.M., born in 1997, residing in Sarajevo, inside the vehicle.

In the immediate vicinity, a "VW Golf 2" passenger motor vehicle was also found, with two unknown individuals inside who attempted to flee the scene but were prevented from doing so by police officers.

Upon identification, it was determined that they were minors A.E., born in 2000, and O.S., born in 2000, both residing in Sarajevo.

Police officers' checks revealed that the vehicle in question was stolen on November 23, 2015, from Toplička street, municipality of Živinice. The prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office in Sarajevo was informed of the above, and minors O.V., R.M., O.M., A.E., and O.S. were deprived of their liberty on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of aggravated theft.

After the investigations were completed, with the consent of the prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office in Sarajevo and the judge for preliminary proceedings of the Municipal Court in Sarajevo, the vehicles in question were returned to their owners. Police officers continue to work on clarifying and documenting the criminal activities of the mentioned individuals.
