(Patria) - Acting on the order of the prosecutor from the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, members of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), carried out the deprivation of liberty of 9 persons in the area of Bosanski Novi / Novi Grad and its surroundings, who are suspected of the criminal offense of crimes against humanity under Article 172 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The persons under investigation by the Prosecutor's Office of BiH are suspected of having, as members of the VRS military police, committed war crimes against victims of Bosniak and Croatian ethnicity in the area of Bosanski Novi / Novi Grad in 1992, which relate to the murders of several persons, as well as unlawful detention and crimes against several hundred persons in the Vatrogasni dom camp.
After the criminal investigation, the suspects will be handed over to the prosecutor in charge, who will question them and then make a decision on further activities in the case.
