Ten people arrested in Sarajevo: Drugs, weapons and money found during apartment searches

Acting on an operational action codenamed “Jesen”, police officers from the Department for Combating Drug Abuse of the Ministry of Interior of the Sarajevo Canton, under the supervision of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office in Sarajevo, on Wednesday, March 23, 2016, arrested P.D., born in 1978 in Sarajevo, S.E., born in 1982 in Sarajevo, R.D., born in 1982 in Sarajevo, Z.A., born in 1997 in Sarajevo, R.D., born in 1982 in Sarajevo, all residing in Sarajevo, on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of unauthorized production and trafficking of narcotic drugs as part of a group organized for the commission of criminal offenses of unauthorized production and trafficking of narcotic drugs, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

Also arrested were Z.E., born in 1991 in Sarajevo, R.K., born in 1979 in Sarajevo, M.M., born in 1988 in Sarajevo, and K.A., born in 1981 in Sarajevo, where they reside, on suspicion of having committed criminal offenses under Article 238, paragraph 2, in conjunction with paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Article 52, paragraph 1, point a) of the Law on Narcotic Drugs. Based on court orders, searches were conducted of apartments and other premises used by them in the municipalities of Stari Grad Sarajevo and Novi Grad Sarajevo. During the searches, the following was found and seized:

- 16 packages containing a substance resembling the narcotic drug heroin,

- one package containing a substance resembling the narcotic drug cocaine,

- one pistol with a frame and ammunition,

- a larger quantity of rifle cartridges cal. 7.9 mm and 7.62 mm,

- several mobile phones, and

- a certain amount of money originating from drug trafficking.

After the completion of the criminal investigation, the aforementioned individuals will be handed over today, along with a report on the committed criminal offenses, to the competent prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office in Sarajevo. Additionally, police officers conducted a criminal investigation of G.S., born in 1985 in Doboj, residing in Maglaj, on suspicion of having committed a criminal offense under Article 238, paragraph 2, in conjunction with paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and based on a warrant, handed him over for further proceedings to the competent Judicial Police.
