Siniša Dodik and Radenko Mirković were apprehended today under the order of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina on suspicion of committing election fraud.
The activities relate to irregularities during the election process in the municipality of Istočna Ilidža. However, the name Siniša Dodik is not unknown to the local public. This member of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats was born in 1979, was a member of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, and is also known for not wanting to give up his 'white salary' after not receiving enough votes for a mandate in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly in the last general elections.
According to data from the Center for Investigative Journalism, he joined the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) at the age of nineteen, in 1998. Four years later, he became the president of SNSD Youth Istočna Ilidža. He held this position until 2005, when he became the president of the SNSD Executive Board Istočna Ilidža, N1 reports.
He won his first term in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska (NSRS) in the 2006 elections, and his second four years later. In the 2014 General Elections, he ran for the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament but did not manage to win a mandate. He currently works in the family company Galeb Internacional d.o.o.
Radenko Mirković is also a member of SNSD. He is a councilor in the Municipal Assembly of Istočna Ilidža. CIN did not mention him in its research.
