Three people arrested: Suspected of stealing around 50,000 BAM through computer fraud

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Under the direct supervision of the acting prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton, police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency carried out searches of residential and auxiliary buildings and movable property at six locations, specifically in the areas of Sarajevo and Derventa.

Three individuals were deprived of their liberty on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of association for the purpose of committing criminal offenses in connection with the criminal offense of computer fraud. 

They are suspected of acting as an organized group, during 2022, they unauthorizedly influenced the outcome of electronic data processing of legal entities in FBiH and RS engaged in the business of gambling, with the aim of acquiring unlawful property benefits, thereby causing property damage exceeding 50,000 BAM to these legal entities.

During the search, IT and computer equipment and other items that may serve as evidence in criminal proceedings were discovered and temporarily seized.

The Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office proposed to the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo the detention of one person and the issuance of an international arrest warrant, as they are on the run. For two individuals, prohibitory measures have been proposed.
