Four arrested, 70 kg of amphetamine found

(Patria) - In the Rapid operation conducted in the areas of East Sarajevo, Sarajevo Canton, and Konjic, 70 kilograms of amphetamine drug were seized, announced the KS Prosecutor's Office.

The operation followed several months of investigation and the implementation of special investigative measures, upon the order and under the supervision of the acting prosecutor from the General Crime Department.

As part of this operation, members of the FUP, under the supervision of the acting prosecutor, deprived four individuals of their liberty for the criminal offense of unauthorized production and trafficking of narcotic drugs. Approximately 70 kilograms of amphetamine drug were found at the suspects' apartment during the search in Sarajevo.

As part of the aforementioned activities, individuals identified by initials A.V, (1991) from Sarajevo, M.M. (1996) from Sarajevo, O.Č (1992) from Konjic, and Z.N. (1984) from East Sarajevo were deprived of their liberty due to grounds for suspicion of committing the mentioned criminal offense. On this occasion, approximately seventy-four (74) kilograms of amphetamine narcotic drug, approximately twelve (12) liters of amphetamine oil, approximately one (1) kilogram of amphetamine crystal ice, nine (9) PVC packages containing several hundred tablets (ecstasy), firearms and ammunition, multiple telephones and SIM cards, a precision scale, foils, and other equipment for the production and packaging of narcotic drugs were found and temporarily seized. In the preceding period, approximately eight (8) kilograms of amphetamine narcotic drug were found and temporarily seized from associates of the subject organized criminal group.

The mentioned individuals are suspected of having illegally produced and procured amphetamine narcotic drug in the areas of Sarajevo Canton, Central Bosnia Canton, Zenica-Doboj Canton, and Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, which they produced, prepared, and packaged in a rented apartment for further trafficking to third parties. During the searches, other items originating from or related to the subject criminal offense were also found.

Officers of the Intelligence-Security Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as police officers from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Central Bosnia Canton, Zenica-Doboj Canton, Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska, made a special contribution to documenting the commission of the criminal offense of "Unauthorized Production and Trafficking of Narcotic Drugs" from Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The individuals in question were processed criminally and handed over to the further jurisdiction of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton, which will decide on their further status.
