Vesna Švancer, Vice-President of the FBiH Parliament, Arrested

The Cantonal Prosecutor's Office in Zenica filed an indictment against the Vice-President of the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Vesna Švancer (SBB), in March 2016 for the criminal offense of fraud, and as we learn, she was arrested today.

The Municipal Court in Zenica issued a non-final decision to detain Vesna Švancer to ensure her presence at the main hearing.

- According to the data available to the Municipal Court in Zenica, the appointee has been deprived of her liberty - said Naiče Arnaut, expert advisor for public relations at the Municipal Court, for Patria.

The Prosecutor's Office of the Zenica-Doboj Canton states that in May 2013, with the aim of illegally acquiring property benefits for herself, Švancer falsely represented to a person with the initials D.V. that she would sell the apartment owned by D.V. in her name for the amount of 19,800 euros and that she would hand over the received money to person D.V.

However, she never did that and, according to the indictment, kept the money for herself.

Švancer was born in Zenica in 1971. She is a final-year student at the Faculty of Law at the University of Travnik, writes NAP.
