Zenica Municipal Court Judge Arrested for Taking Money for Acquittals

ZENICA, (Patria) - FUP police officers, while carrying out measures and actions within their jurisdiction today, and under the supervision of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Zenica-Doboj Canton, arrested a judge of the Municipal Court in Zenica, initials M.K. (1964), who is suspected of committing the criminal offenses of "abuse of position or authority," "receiving gifts and other benefits," and "violation of the law by a judge" under the Criminal Code of the Federation of BiH.

Namely, the arrested individual is suspected of having, in her capacity as a judge of the aforementioned court, mediated in the delivery of acquitting court verdicts in order to gain unlawful property benefits, for which services she received money, gifts, and other forms of benefits.

As part of the aforementioned activities, and acting on an Order from the Municipal Court in Zenica, a search of the office premises used by the suspect was conducted, during which items and documentation requested by the Court's Order were found, which will be used as evidence in the criminal proceedings, while a search of the residential premises used by her is currently underway.

The arrested individual will be brought in and processed criminally at the official premises of the Federal Police Administration, and within the legal deadline, will be handed over with a Report on the committed criminal offense to the further jurisdiction of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Zenica-Doboj Canton.
