Person Arrested Suspected of Setting Fire to Official Vehicle of the City of Mostar

(Patria) - One person was arrested on Friday morning for setting fire to an official vehicle of the City of Mostar", confirmed Ilijana Miloš, spokesperson for the HNK Police, to Bljesak.info.

To recall, on Wednesday around 03:40 AM in Fra Didaka Buntića Street in Mostar, a Škoda Superb vehicle, an official vehicle of the City of Mostar used by Mayor Mario Kordić, caught fire. The police and the Mostar Fire Department immediately responded to the scene. The front of the vehicle was completely burned.

The police seized footage from several nearby cameras, and perpetrators were spotted on them. There were two individuals involved.

The first person passed by the vehicle shortly after 3 PM, briefly looking down the street, conducting a proper reconnaissance in search of the second person - who was the perpetrator of the crime.

After the first man, who had no head covering, made sure the situation was clear, the second one arrived and set fire to the vehicle. They soon left the scene.

According to neighbors, after learning about the fire, Kordić ran out to save things from the car.

He cut his hand while removing items from the burning car, and later received medical assistance and had his finger stitched.

Many domestic and international officials condemned the arson of the Mostar mayor's vehicle.
