Mother arrested: Bodies of two children found in freezer

A Detroit woman was arrested after the bodies of two children were found in a freezer in her home, the Patria News Agency reported today.

Court bailiffs found the bodies of a boy and a girl during the execution of an eviction order in an apartment complex in Detroit, ABC NEWS reported.

According to Police Chief James Craig, the bodies of a boy aged around 11 and a girl aged around 14 were found, and an autopsy will determine how they died.

The mother, whose name has not been released, was not in the apartment when bailiffs and police were at her home; she was later questioned in a neighboring apartment and arrested.

Two other children of hers, aged 11 and 17, were found in a neighboring apartment and placed under protection.

Neighbor Tori Shields stated that she had not seen the two deceased children for about a year.

The arrested woman's children did not attend school; the mother homeschooled them so that nothing would happen to them, neighbors said.

The arrested woman had lived in the apartment complex where she was deprived of her liberty for at least 10 years, was unemployed, had financial problems, and rent arrears.
