One person has been arrested following a shooting that occurred on Tuesday after 8 PM in the Sarajevo settlement of Kovačići, confirmed Patria from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton.
The shooting was preceded by a verbal argument, after which a young man pulled out a pistol and fired several shots, wounding P.N. born in 1984. The injured man was transported to the University Clinical Center Sarajevo. The attackers fled in an Audi A3 car after using the firearm.
According to Patria's findings, the suspect had just been released from prison.
The investigation was conducted by the prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office in Sarajevo and police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton. Working to shed light on the mentioned event, police officers of the First Police Administration found and deprived A.K., born in 1990 in Sarajevo, of his liberty on 07/27/2016 at 1:00 AM in Asim Ferhatović street, Centar Sarajevo municipality, due to grounds for suspicion that he can be linked to the commission of the criminal offense of attempted murder.
Work continues on clarifying and documenting the described criminal offense, identifying and finding the second perpetrator.
