One person arrested for helping Sejfović escape

Sarajevo police yesterday arrested one person on suspicion of helping Amel Sejfović escape from the Miljacka Penitentiary in Sarajevo.

The arrested man, identified by initials I.B., is suspected of enabling the escape of a person deprived of liberty.

After the arrest, he was questioned at the premises of the competent Prosecutor's Office. Police are still searching for the motorcyclist who was waiting for Sejfović in front of the Sarajevo Penitentiary.

The Prosecutor's Office has requested pre-trial detention for the suspect from the Municipal Court in Sarajevo due to the risk of influencing witnesses, concealing evidence, and the risk of re-offending.

We remind you that Sejfović escaped from the detention unit in Sarajevo on September 3rd, and police arrested him on the 8th day of his escape in a village near Visoko. 

Amel Sejfović has been transferred to detention in Zenica.
