Two biggest drug lords arrested in Serbia

Minister of Internal Affairs Nebojša Stefanović announced that two of the biggest drug lords in Serbia were arrested in four separate police operations, reports the news agency Patria.

In addition, he emphasized that the largest arms smuggling ring in Serbia and France has been intercepted, and that a suspect in the terrorist attacks in Macedonia has also been arrested.

At a press conference, Stefanović specified that several suspects for drug smuggling have been arrested, including one of the biggest drug lords in the Balkans - M.T. from Novi Pazar and M.N., one of the biggest drug smugglers in Serbia. 

Stefanović said that in the operation in which drug lord M.T. from Novi Pazar was arrested, four more people from that city and from Tutin were arrested. 

The Minister stated that the police entered the premises and apartments used by them in the territory of those two cities this morning, and that they are suspected of smuggling heroin from Turkey into Serbia and Western Europe for years. 

Stefanović said that in the last four months, the police seized 13 kilograms of heroin from this criminal group, and that through this operation, the organizers and the top of the drug smuggling pyramid were discovered, stating that automatic weapons were found with them, and that the search is ongoing. 

Stefanović also said at the press conference that B.B. from Kumanovo was arrested at the administrative crossing of Brnjak, based on an Interpol warrant, and is suspected of participating in the terrorist attacks in Macedonia from January to May, B92 reports.
