Four men arrested suspected of being Islamic terrorists

Spanish police arrested on Saturday in Ceuta, a Spanish enclave near Morocco, four men suspected of being Islamist terrorists and are investigating whether they planned attacks in Spain, the Spanish government announced, reports the Patria news agency.

This is the latest arrest in Ceuta and Melilla, the other Spanish enclave in North Africa, where Spanish authorities are monitoring extremist cells.

Spanish police arrested a total of 50 jihadists in 2014, the Spanish Interior Ministry announced.

Spain is just one of the European countries trying to deter young Muslims from their country from becoming jihadists and going to fight on the side of the Islamic State in Syria and Iraq, fearing they could return and carry out attacks in Europe.
