Alma Destanović, secretary at the Municipality of Stari Grad Sarajevo, arrested

(Patria) - Within the "Start" operation, members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton arrested Alma Destanović, secretary of the Municipality of Stari Grad.

Police are searching the Municipality of Stari Grad under the order of the Court of BiH and the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo, in cooperation with EUROPOL, and under the supervision of acting prosecutors from the Sarajevo and State Prosecutor's Offices.

More than 150 police officers from the Police Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton are on the ground.

Searches are being conducted in the municipalities of Stari Grad, Novo Sarajevo, Vogošća, and Ilidža - at more than 20 locations. The searches include residential buildings, business and official premises, and passenger vehicles.

So far in the operation, documentation, and certain amounts of cash and valuable jewelry have been found and seized. Several passenger vehicles have also been temporarily confiscated.

The operational-tactical operation involves more than 10 individuals and legal entities suspected of organized crime and abuses amounting to several million. Activities are being carried out in coordination with EUROPOL and relate to criminal offenses of organized crime and money laundering, as well as corrupt criminal offenses of abuse of office or authority, and receiving and giving gifts.
