Arrested for extortion: Sadudin Bećiragić from Rožaje previously convicted for cocaine smuggling

Sarajevo police yesterday arrested Sadudin Bećiragić (born 1973 in Rožaje) known as Satko for extorting around 300,000 KM from P.S. born 1978 in Prijepolje), which lasted from March 2013 to the end of September 2015, when he decided to report everything to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton, writes the BH news agency Patria.

Bećiragić threatened and pressured P.S., thereby obtaining money.

The arrest operation was preceded by an investigation and surveillance authorized by the prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office in Sarajevo. Upon the proposal of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton, the Municipal Court in Sarajevo issued an Order for the execution of special investigative actions on 24.09.2015, namely: Simulated and controlled purchase of items and Simulated bribery.

On 27.11.2015, upon the proposal of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton, the Municipal Court in Sarajevo issued an Order for the execution of special investigative actions, namely: Covert surveillance and technical recording of persons, vehicles, and items associated with them.

On 08.12.2015, around 12:40 PM, a meeting was arranged at the "Bristol" hotel, Fra Filipa Lastrića street, Novo Sarajevo municipality, between P.S. and B.S., during which the Order for the implementation of a special investigative action was carried out, namely: Simulated bribery by P.S. handing over an envelope with marked banknotes to B.S. Upon the handover of the money, on the same day at 2:00 PM, by order of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton, B.S. was deprived of liberty, due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of extortion, to the detriment of P.S. from Sarajevo.

Incidentally, Bećiragić is well-known to the police and judicial authorities in Montenegro, where he was arrested in 2008 for his connection to 1.5 kg of cocaine intended for sale in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The arrested courier Fikret Dacić, who took the drugs and was supposed to transport them to Bosnia and Herzegovina, identified Bećiragić as the owner of the drugs.

As Novosti.rs wrote in 2009, Sadudin - Satko Bećiragić, along with his brother Sabahudin, was identified as the leader of one of the two drug clans in the Rožaje area, and they were also linked to heroin trafficking, which arrives in Rožaje from Afghanistan via Turkey and Kosovo.

Bećiragić owns a number of properties in Rožaje, as well as on the Montenegrin coast.

Sadudin Bećiragić was sentenced in 2012 to three and a half years in prison for drug smuggling.
