The said person is suspected of having abused his position and committed the criminal offense of accepting a gift or other benefit, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

He is suspected of having requested a certain amount of money from a person who is a VAT debtor, for himself, in order to enable the reprogramming of tax debt repayment.

The Prosecutor's Office of BiH is determined in the fight against all forms of corruption, especially in cases involving corrupt behavior by holders of high positions in institutions, and has conducted an investigation with partner agencies and carried out the arrest of the suspect.

Excellent cooperation was realized in this case between the chief prosecutors of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH and the Special Prosecutor's Office of RS, as well as police agencies. The operation was directly coordinated by the chief prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH.

This activity once again shows that we have a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption, and we call on citizens to report corrupt behavior and criminal offenses of corruption.

The said suspect will be handed over to the acting prosecutor within the legal deadline, after which a decision will be made on initiating a proposal for determining pre-trial detention or prohibition measures in accordance with the law.
