Terrorist Mirsad Omerović, who also stayed in Gornja Maoča, arrested

In a large-scale operation by the Austrian police, 13 members of the Wahhabi movement were arrested on suspicion of financing terrorism, among them Mirsad Omerović, better known as Ebu Teima, reports the BH news agency Patria.

Omerović has long been known as a member of a radical Islamic group and spent some time in Gornja Maoča in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He is originally from Tutin (Serbia), from where he came to Gornja Maoča. In recent years, he has been in Vienna, where he has a residence permit, and as Austrian media reported, he has since acquired Austrian citizenship.

Omerović is also linked to the departure of two minors, Samra Kesinović and Sabina Selimović, to the Syrian battlefield.

Incidentally, in 2010 and 2011, the name of Mirsad Omerović was on the list of Wahhabis believed to be „pulling the strings“ of the Wahhabi community in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Due to these arrests, the Austrian police are on high alert because there is a risk of retaliation from the Wahhabi community.
