The Brčko District Police arrested Senad Pekić, known as “Bula”, on suspicion of committing a crime against prisoners of war in the village of Bukvik (Brčko municipality), BIRN reported, as carried by the Bosnian news agency Patria.
Pekić is suspected of, as a member of the Fifth Company of the 108th Brigade of the Croatian Defence Council (HVO), in September 1992, during an attack on the village of Bukvik, together with other soldiers, killing two prisoners of Serbian nationality – Gojko and Cvjetin Radić.
He will, as stated, be handed over to the State Prosecutor's Office, which will, after the hearing, decide on a proposal for custody or the imposition of prohibitive measures.
According to the Prosecutor's Office, around 50 civilians of Serbian nationality were killed in the area of Bukvik in 1992.
The Brčko District Police arrested Mensur Đakić a day earlier, also suspected of crimes committed against prisoners of war in the village of Bukvik, NAP writes.
