Sarajevo resident arrested in Herceg Novi for selling two forged high school diplomas

Officers of the Police Directorate of the Ministry of Interior of Montenegro, Security Centre Herceg Novi, today deprived of liberty a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina, R.S. (56), on suspicion of selling fake high school diplomas to two residents of Herceg Novi, and of receiving 2,650 euros from them for this, according to a statement from the Ministry of Interior of Montenegro, as reported by the Patria agency.

The Sarajevo resident is charged with committing the criminal offense of forgery of documents.

Following operational and tactical police measures and actions, it is suspected that R.S. in 2013 sold to N.A. and I.V. from Herceg Novi false and untruthful school documents – high school diplomas, allegedly issued by two secondary vocational schools from Sarajevo. For this illegal business, R.S. is suspected of charging N.A. 1,500 euros, while taking 1,150 euros from I.V.

Police officers, through verification with the Ministry of Education of Montenegro, determined that the disputed diplomas were forged. These two individuals, N.A. and I.V., had previously submitted the two forged diplomas as genuine to the competent authority for nostrification, when suspicion arose that they were forgeries, and the police were informed at that time.

Officers of the Security Centre Herceg Novi are undertaking activities to gather information and identify any other individuals who might be connected to this incident.
