Sarajevo resident arrested for setting cars on fire, robbery and terrorising minors

On 24 February 2015 at 11:30, police officers of the Third Police Station deprived B.A., born in 1995 in Sarajevo, where he resides, of his liberty on suspicion of having committed several criminal offences, including causing general danger, aggravated theft, aggravated theft in a particularly brazen or particularly dangerous manner, and robbery, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

During the criminal investigation, he fully confessed to committing the criminal offences in the area of the Novi Grad Sarajevo municipality:

- on 18 February 2015 at around 00:20, he set fire to passenger motor vehicles of the make “VW Polo” and “Fiat Palio” (according to the perpetrator's statement, the motive was a previous quarrel between his relative and the vehicle users),
- on 16 February 2015 at around 12:30, in the entrance hall of a residential building, he committed the criminal offence of aggravated theft in a particularly brazen or particularly dangerous manner to the detriment of minor Č.A. from Sarajevo,
- on 6 January 2014 in Novopazarska Street, Novi Grad Sarajevo municipality, he committed aggravated theft in a house owned by D.B. from Sarajevo,
- on 28 December 2014 in Novopazarska Street, Novi Grad Sarajevo municipality, he committed aggravated theft in a house owned by D.B. from Sarajevo.
Furthermore, police officers of the Second Police Station established through criminal investigation that he committed the following criminal offences in the area of the Novo Sarajevo municipality:

- on 12 January 2015, the criminal offence of aggravated theft to the detriment of D.Š. from Sarajevo,
- on 20 January 2015, the criminal offence of aggravated theft to the detriment of Dž.M. from Sarajevo,
- on 19 February 2015, the criminal offence of aggravated theft in a particularly brazen or particularly dangerous manner, to the detriment of A.H. from Sarajevo,
- on 2 February 2015, the criminal offence of robbery to the detriment of minor M.M. from Sarajevo,
- on 4 February 2015, the criminal offence of robbery to the detriment of minor M.L. from Sarajevo, and
- on 5 January 2015, the criminal offence of robbery to the detriment of minor H.D. from Sarajevo,

After the completion of the criminal investigation, on 25 February 2015, B.A. was handed over, together with a report on the committed criminal offences, to the competent prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office in Sarajevo.
