Renowned Guitar Teacher Predrag Pedo Stanković Arrested: Suspected of Years-Long Sexual Abuse of Children

(Patria) - Members of the Tuzla Canton Ministry of Interior have arrested renowned guitar teacher from Tuzla, Predrag Stanković, known as Pedo, Istraga.ba reports.

Professor Stanković was arrested by order of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office in Tuzla on suspicion of sexually abusing his students for years.

“A one-month detention has already been proposed,” said a source from the TK Prosecutor's Office for Istraga.

According to unofficial information, several people have testified that Professor Stanković sexually exploited and abused them for years. The case was opened based on one testimony, but later more witnesses came forward who had suffered sexual abuse during a certain period.

Predrag Stanković was born in Tuzla in 1949. He started playing guitar at the age of thirteen. He gave his first lessons back in 1973 at the Youth Center in Tuzla, and since the establishment of the Guitar Department at the Elementary Music School in 1979, and the Department at the Secondary Music School in 1991, Stanković has musically educated more than 1,000 students.

In 1996, Predrag Stanković founded the Youth Art Center association, which gathers musically talented children.

According to information from Istraga, Professor Stanković was arrested on Tuesday, and on Wednesday he was handed over to the TK Prosecutor's Office, which proposed detention.
