Father of minor who shot teacher in Lukavac this morning arrested

(Patria) - MUP TK police officers have arrested the father of a 13-year-old boy who shot a teacher at the "Lukavac Grad" Elementary School in Lukavac this morning.

Police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tuzla Canton, under the order of the competent court and prosecutor's office, are searching the family home. The minor found the pistol at home. 

"The father is suspected of the criminal offense of neglect or abuse of a child or minor and the criminal offense under Article 72 of the Law on Weapons and Ammunition of TK (Unauthorized acquisition, possession, and sale of weapons and essential parts for weapons)," said Admir Arnautović, spokesperson for the TK Prosecutor's Office.

Investigators will conduct a criminal investigation, after which this person will be handed over to the jurisdiction of the TK Prosecutor's Office, where further actions will be taken regarding the suspect.

The minor came to the Lukavac Grad Elementary School with a pistol, from which he had previously been expelled due to inappropriate behavior. He fired several shots, one of which hit teacher N. Osmanović, who sustained life-threatening injuries.
