Organizer of armed robbery of a jewelry store in Kalesija arrested, Velimir Gurdeljević

(Patria) - Members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) of Tuzla Canton (TK) arrested Velimir Gurdeljević today, Istraga.ba has learned.

Velimir Vekac Gurdeljević was arrested in the area of Kalesija. He had been hiding from police agencies for days after organizing an armed robbery of a jewelry store in Kalesija on November 19th of this year.

Members of the MUP of TK arrested Gurdeljević at the crossroads leading from Kalesija towards Zvornik and Sapna, respectively. He was in a car that was being tracked.

To recall, a week ago, several masked assailants carried out an armed robbery of a local jewelry store in Kalesija, and while fleeing, they opened fire on a police patrol, which returned fire.

During the exchange of fire, Matija Gurdeljević was seriously wounded and soon died. His accomplices, including his brother Velimir, threw Matija's body out of the car and left it in the woods, while they later set fire to the stolen vehicle they arrived in at the scene of the robbery to remove traces.

A warrant had been issued for Velimir Gurdeljević, and all police agencies in Bosnia and Herzegovina were searching for him.

Velimir Gurdeljević is the leader of a gang from Osmaci near Kalesija that has been organizing robberies and thefts in the areas of Zvornik and Tuzla Canton for years.
