Drug dealer Admir Arnautović Šmrk arrested: Beat up son of Dubai police general

(Patria) - Convicted drug dealer Admir Arnautović Šmrk was arrested today in Sarajevo on suspicion of beating up a foreign national, Istraga.ba has learned.

Šmrk was arrested by members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, and he is expected to be handed over to the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office.

According to Istraga.ba's information, Šmrk beat up a young man from Dubai, who is the son of Sheikh Talib, a police general from Dubai.

Interestingly, Šmrk is represented by lawyer Alena Begović, daughter of the head of the FUP Special Police, Mustafa Selmanović, who is suspected of cooperating with the drug cartel of Edin Gačanin Tito, who lives in Dubai.

Admir Arnautović Šmrk has long been known to law enforcement agencies. He was part of a group prosecuted by the BiH Prosecutor's Office in 2013. He was indicted along with Adnan Maglić, Sandro Melić, and Jasmin Hatić.

"The defendants are accused of becoming members of an organized criminal group that operated continuously for a longer period, for the purpose of acquiring illegal property benefits, with the aim of committing criminal offenses related to the unauthorized international purchase, sale, brokerage, and delivery of narcotic drugs 'heroin' and 'cocaine', which are classified as narcotic drugs by valid legal regulations.

The first defendant, Admir Arnautović, organized, planned, and for a long period continuously until today, procured heavy narcotic drugs from the territory of neighboring countries, mainly the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Croatia, and then illegally transported them into Bosnia and Herzegovina, mainly to Sarajevo.

He, in cooperation with the other defendants, as well as other persons known to him, distributed and sold the procured drugs in the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

With the money thus acquired, the first defendant Admir Arnautović bought real estate, as well as valuable movable property, and in cooperation with the other mentioned defendants, lent money with interest to persons who gambled in casinos.

In this way, all the accused, as members of an organized criminal group, with the aim of acquiring illegal property benefits for themselves, forced other persons through serious threats to perform actions that caused damage to their property, and threatened certain persons that they would lose their cars if they did not pay them a certain amount of money," the website of the BiH Prosecutor's Office stated.

Šmrk was also arrested in September 2022 after the Sky application was decrypted. At that time, the arrest warrant was issued by state prosecutor Džermin Pašić, who, after the police handed Šmrk over to the BiH Prosecutor's Office, abruptly withdrew from the case.

An indictment against Admir Arnautović has not been filed to date.
