Arrested after brutally beating and raping sister

Franc Kostić (24) from Zaječar, who brutally raped his 16-year-old developmentally disabled sister, was arrested with a suitcase in his hand while intending to flee to Belgrade, ATV reports, as relayed by the news agency Patria.

The suspected rapist was intoxicated at the time of his arrest.

Kostić waited for the girl, who is his cousin, in front of the Jelena Majstorović special school in Zaječar the day before yesterday afternoon. He suggested they take a walk in the Kraljevica park-forest, then dragged her into an abandoned toilet, beat her, and raped her.

– We were called by locals who were walking in Kraljevica, because they saw the girl wandering aimlessly in Kraljevica, all disheveled, with torn clothes. The girl was only sobbing, so specialists from the Center for Social Work spoke with her – says a reliable source.

Franc Kostić is an unemployed young man and has not had any previous run-ins with the law. Acquaintances say he often changes his place of residence across Serbia.

The girl was immediately sent for gynecological and psychiatric examination. It was determined that she had been raped. She is now receiving home treatment in a foster family where she was placed several years ago.

The rapist is in custody, and he defended himself to the police by claiming the girl consented to the sexual intercourse.
