SARAJevo, (Patria) - Ahead of the first Bosnian Pride Parade in Sarajevo on Sunday, September 8, the Sarajevo police received a phone call from a man, K.K., born in 1975, who reported hearing from unknown persons that a bomb had been planted near the Eternal Flame. Checks revealed that it was a false report. Participants of the Pride Parade gathered at that location and walked to the building of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH.
Police officers of the Criminal Police Sector of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton arrested K.K. at 4:35 PM on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of false reporting.
"The mobile phone used to make the call was seized from K.K. with a receipt. The prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton was informed. The arrested person was handed over to the premises of the Unit for Security of Objects and Detention of Persons Arrested by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton. Police officers are continuing the criminal investigation of the said person," the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton announced.
The first Bosnian Pride Parade passed without a single incident, and was secured by hundreds of police officers who maintained the highest possible level of security.
