SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Due to suspicion of committing the criminal offense of extortion to the detriment of a person with initials D.V., M.M. from Prijedor was arrested, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of RS announced this morning.
"Nezavisne novine" has learned that Marko Munjiza was arrested, and some media outlets report that he was arrested for extorting the director of the Investment Development Bank, Dražen Vrhovac.
M.M. was arrested last night immediately after receiving the money he demanded from the injured party to stop further dissemination of information harmful to his honor and reputation, it was stated in the RS MUP statement.
Searches of the vehicle and premises used by the suspect are underway.
This operational action, codenamed "Provider", was carried out by members of the RS MUP Directorate for Organized and Serious Crime, acting on the order of the District Court in Prijedor.
All further activities are being carried out under the supervision of the District Public Prosecutor's Office in Prijedor.
