Minor arrested for shooting another student this morning, firearm also found

(Patria) - The minor who shot another minor this morning in the yard of the Secondary School of Metal Trades has been taken into custody and is undergoing criminal processing.

"That minor has been brought under control, a search of the residential premises used by the minor was conducted. A firearm was found for which there is reasonable suspicion that it was used to commit the criminal offense. The prosecutor has qualified this incident as causing general danger and minor bodily injury," said Mersiha Novalić, spokesperson for the Police Administration of the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton.

After being handed over to the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office, the acting prosecutor will decide on further measures regarding the minor.

It involves two students from two different schools, the Secondary Mechanical School and the Secondary School of Metal Trades.

Novalić noted that even today they have reports of planted explosive devices, and checks are being carried out at several locations.

"Nine persons have been deprived of liberty, and criminal charges will be filed against 14 in connection with the criminal offense of endangering safety related to false reporting," said Novalić.

Of these, eight are minors attending secondary schools in Sarajevo and one is an adult student.

"The fact that nine persons have been deprived of liberty does not prevent other students from committing the same criminal offenses today, because we still have reports in several secondary schools today," Novalić emphasized.
