Josip Šimić was arrested on the order of the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office on suspicion of forging official documents, the spokesperson for the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office, Azra Bavčić, confirmed to the Patria news agency.
Šimić was arrested by members of the Agency for Investigation and Protection (SIPA) and is currently at SIPA premises, where he is undergoing criminal processing.
Šimić was arrested because he recently submitted documents to the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office suspects are forged, concerning alleged wiretapping of acting Chief State Prosecutor Gordana Tadić and HJPC Vice-President Ružica Jukić by SIPA.
The Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced today that an investigation is underway regarding the events related to the alleged wiretapping of Tadić and Jukić, and that an internal control within SIPA did not establish any action by the Agency in relation to the mentioned event, which concerns the secret tracking and monitoring of the communications of the mentioned persons.
